The city uses two types of expressways. They all use US numbering system, where north-south freeways are odd-numbered, and east-west are even. Long distance, major expressways have numbers divisible by 5. Expressway branches going through a city and rejoining the expressway are numbered with a three-digit number, the first digit being even, the last two being the number of the original expressway. Non-loop branches have an odd digit in their three-digit number.

Freeways are numbered on orange shields, are free or have minimal flat-fee tolls, usually for crossing a major bridge, a tunnel or the Mielborg-Yngeborg-Kingstad Royal Territory.

Expressways proper are numbered with green shields, and are always straighter, wider, have more lanes and higher speed limits. Many of these expressways are military, since the military is the original inventor of the concept. Such expressways always have the "YIELD TO MILITARY VEHICLES. STAY IN THE RIGHT LANES" signs posted at every entrance ramp. These expressways are have distance-based toll system. As with all toll systems in Attland, they automatically scan vehicle's license plates.

Some freeeways turn into expressways as 55 outside the city, or when turning into a shortcut or a tunnel, as is the case with 10, 22, 24, 314.

Some of the expressways have freeway branches, as 69's 369, 6's 106 and 306, 51's 151.

Miklasgard's subway system is actually a railroad network

The region's suburban railroad (similar to German S-bahn), intercity railroads, broad gauge (7-foot) the 770 Express network, the dual track, regular subway, the monorail (also similar to a guideway rail), and the suspended monorail system IS the city's rapid transport system which works like a railroad network of a medium-sized European country.

Miklasgard's places of interest also include parks

Miklasgard municipality and the Queen have stipulated any body of water inside the city should have vegetation covering at least 40% of its shore length. This rule, plus the requirement that there must be parks for every 50,000 people, make Miklasgard's urban sprawl very green. Many of museums are also required to have a green zone, as the Green Belt separating Miklasgard City from the city of Karolinga (see the green band in the north).

This fjord looks majestic and especially forbidding at dusk. The painting shows how the fjord colors can obscure the old structures and castle-like buildings. When sunlit, the fjord looks like these fjord cities, but more classic, since the buildings are at least 120 years ago.

Wolf Dolgrynd: expelling gang culture is never racist

During a press conference, the Chancellor was asked to explain how his government's move to expel its Hispanic population is not racist.

I definitely saw and heard the Chancellor say that he exercised his authority in affirming his government's decision to expel individuals that are not, and refuse to be residents who are responsible and abiding by its laws. It is never racist to expel individuals that obstruct justice, foster narcotics trade, abuse social support system, and spread culture based on anti-family values.
Any organization or individual who arrogantly ignores these basic morals, and continues to exert this deceitful political pressure, while hiding behind the racism excuse, may find himself in violation of Attland's laws against subversive activities.

Meanwhile, only a handful of Hispanic population remains (2,000-3,000) throughout Attland, all staying in Eldorado, a city that has become a part of the Marlborough megalopolis.

HMS Torbay sinks and embarrasses the pompous Royal Navy.

Another incident leading a cold war -like stance with UK was the mysterious sinking of a British SSN, S-90 HMS Torbay, was most likely caught off guard about 120 miles NNW of Attland. Both countries are keeping mum about the circumstances of the sinking. What is known is that many British sailors were rescued by Attland's Navy, but many were, according to UK government, suspiciously incapacitated, or died soon afterward. The captain's condition worsened to a point where he could not communicate with Red Cross officials. He was returned to the UK by way of Morocco only in 2008, after having been kept, unacknowledged, in a medical facility.

The most serious and heavyweight notice to other navies was issued after this incident, where Attland's temporary rotation chancellor warned that in order to protect the island's coastal security, his Navy was ready to fire first on any military vessel acting in an unfriendly manner.

Obama's administration disappointed, but reassured with a clause from a mysterious treaty

Another interesting tidbit I caught on TV: when the news reported that the US was disappointed that the Chancellor wholly countered Obama's outreach to the Islamic world, the Chancellor's office stated that Attland is abiding by its mysterious agreement with the US. According to the agreement, Attland is assured of no political strings attached to its unlimited preferred trading status.

The treaty also provides for the assurance the USA gets in unconditional and discretionary support from Attland, discussed when needed according to a specific political situation, and agreed by on executive level in both countries. According to the agreement, Attland is also to provide any strategic, tactical and other military assistance which, at least, provide for a backyard defense while the US military is deployed overseas.

The (ghost) fjord that was

This fjord on the southern shore of the western half of the Northern Peninsula defies all scientists. Despite the indications that the world sea levels are rising, this fjord is drying up. Only 80 years ago ships like this were able to reach the end of this albeit shallow fjord, visible int he distance. The fjord's name is Havanna Fjord - the Harbor Fjord. The structure on the left on cliff sides is an ancient castle from the days of the Closed Kingdom (1300-1770). The banks of the fjord used to have fishing settlements. Most of the fjord bottom now is a salt marsh, rarely reachable by the strongest storms. Unlike the fjord cities, or the Three Giants Fjord, this one is a ghost fjord.

I watched a summary of the response on TV and the gist of the Chancellor's message is that the grassroots of Moslem world are based on fanatical, primitive ego principles which instantly bestow disdain on any compromising partner, and exploit any opportunity, including duplicity and deceit, to pursue its goals in gaining new ground in Islam's spiritual, political, and territorial aspirations. Chancellor repeated, without mincing words, that except some Gulf countries, other Islamic countries belong to the new Evil Empire of the 21-th century, quietly sharpening knives at Jewish people, Israel, and the Western World.

There's more than just pillars, coal, gas, and oil off the northern shores of Attland. King Yarl had banked on the seafloor to have more than scientifically discovered amounts of clathrate. King Yarl was the first one to discover and confirm that clathrates under seaflor do contain hydrocarbons, and off Attland's shores, they contain propanes, butanes, pentanes, hexanes and sometimes higher hydrocarbon alkanes.
The Oilbelt Corporation's platform looks like it is an oil drilling type, but it is actually a clathrate extraction platform (note the absence of the rig.) Clathrate is heated and processed to separate hydrocarbons, which are concentrated and stored to be offloaded into the company service tankers.

Giant vine trees serve as village cores

Attland's jungle is the northernmost of world's jungles, being on the same latitude with South Carolina. Due to the Northern Mountains drawing down cool rainstorm weather, which mixes with the warm, moist Gulf Stream air, creates unusual cases of wet rain shadows both north and south of the mountains.

The misty forests are home to Attland's indigenous trees, such as the vine tree (no connection to grapes). The tree is capable of reaching 100-200 meter in height in over 1000 years of growth, and be about 20 meter in diameter at its base, such as the famous Great Tree of the Tree Village, in the bottom picture. This tree is over 1800 years old. The nearby trees are about 1000 years old.

The Horns of the Emerald Valley

This is a painting of a puzzling rock formation protruding out of nowhere in the middle of the Emerald Valley. The Horns (and The Pillar Pile, in the background) are not sedimentary rock, nor do they have signs of erosion by wind or water. Maybe they were eroded long time before geologists think, and the landscape around them is a lot younger, making the Horns look out of place.

A fjord that is a river

This fjord is long and very narrow, so typical of the island's fjords. This one is less than 1000 feet (330 meters) long, and no more than 70 feet wide, terminating in the typical, wide bay about 130 feet in diameter. It is locked between 1000-1400 foot high cliffs. The most interesting feature is the around-the-clock tidal flows that make the fjord into a river of reversing flows.

Deep down the Chasm ( the famous part of the Canyon that has a very narrow top opening) is lit by sparse sunlight breaking through the narrow slit, and by the sidelights illuminating the Yellow Brick Road. The major feature in this picture is one of the ledges that are found all over the northern peninsula. These ledges protrude out of cave floors, mountain valleys. This part of the Chasm is over 800 feet deep, shows no traces of erosion or natural arch formations, and has no debri to suggest that the ledge was a part of an arch that collapsed.

This is the monkey bat, or the troll bat as they call it here in the north of the island. The bats often stay topside after the daybreak, foraging for fruits. The rest of them form a formidable swirling animal jetstream entering any major opening of the Chasm.

These are the mushrooms of the Chasm. First they grow down and then curl upwards. They are edible, and somewhat more tasty than the typical cave mushroom you can buy at your local Trader Joe's, Publix or Kroger.

Brog Corporation's giant hi-tech recycling complex

This is the flagship plant of Brog Coproration's hi-tech waste processing complex in the company's own Brog City (which is also the largest -6 million strong - company town in the world). Nothing goes to waste on the island: the household waste, sewage, recycled materials get sorted out using the latest technologies and reprocessed into new cardboard, plastic, metals, even gold and vitamins.

A plane is heading to land at the Brog City's Central Airport (there is also the industrial-military Southern and a cargo-transhipment Northern Airport). Note the Tokyo City symbol on the building at left. The City of Tokyo has several joint projects running at the complex.

Small river that roars (with industry)

This is where Balgrey River widens into its minidelta entering Yahalma River in Miklasgard. The delta in the late 19th century has been made into a Balgrahaven (Belgravia) port, an impressively huge river multi-modal port served by a cargo airport, hundred of railroad tracks, truck terminals, transshipment barge docks, and manufacturer's private docks - like auto assembly plants, chemical, aircraft, steel and other industries. Balgrahaven neighborhood's residential high rises are in the backdrop. These are modest test buildings for what is now called superblocks, or skyblocks, each a home to 4-10 thousand residents. The tower on the left is an apartment house -residential hotel. - Now I stand corrected - it is an automated parking tower, the photo below is the view of an interior.

The mystifying view from the Moon Rock Mountain

The Moon Rock Mound tops the Moon Rock Mountain that has one of the most picturesque views of the Emerlad Valley. The Moon rock Mound is a mysterious formation comprised of the island's typical minerals. Almost perfectly spherical, it is 23 meters in diameter, and appears as if it was cut out of the rock, but it is monolithic with the rest of the monolithic mountain, and shows no marks of hand tools, or other meaningful images, except the man-made lines that have been overgrown with mossy vegetation. Nearby Lookout Castle and a sky temple of sorts (see one of the Valley's real sky temples) has been cut out of a convenient pillar. On the bottom of the Valley you can see the Yahalma river and the 130-ft. Moon Rock waterfalls.

The monasteries that the nature claimed back

After the 27th King (see the list of the Monarchs) allowed the Europeans on the island, all the more to build almost anything they desired, the French and German religious orders hurriedly built these unique cathedrals partially cutting into the most convenient mountain side using the sites of the former Queen Linga temples. Using their European skills and being in a hurry to start their proselytizing, which never succeeded, they were purposefully not left in the dark about construction methods in this rocky, uniquely jungle-like craggy mountain scape.

The wild and quickly growing trees, the torrential rains cascading down the cliffs and steep mountain stacks quickly conquered and destroyed the cathedrals. In the bottom picture, new river streams and waterfalls ran through the continuously accumulating dying vegetation, and broke through the walls of the cathedral. The stone-digesting, climbing vegetation has weakened the masonry, causing the collapse of the main structure.

The islanders say that even thought they learned the lesson of not worshipping Queen Linga (back in 11th century) nevertheless G-d of Noah would not permit the prized historical site to be used by a religion that worships another human.

Electric waterbuses of capital's canals

This is a painting of a canal scene on the supercity's Broya Canal in Brithwold. The freeway, a city train (subway), freeway access drives stuck to a side of a building, and the Brithwold Station's tower are all easily viewable. The star attraction, however, is the electric canal bus, which used to be a surface streetcar. Miklasgard dismantled all streetcar lines, and mounted most of the streetcars, especially vintage double deckers, on to small barge hulls. This resulted in pollution-free, quiet canal transportation. All of Miklasgard's canals are clean, despite the urban overcrowding.

I am making my way through the UCICS

I have just realized the breadth of what UCICS is: it stands for the Unified Computer Information and Communication System. More than a system, it is also an FCC-like authority that regulates all things technical in TV, telephony, radio, mobile phones, cable TV, satellite communications, data over electric lines, and data over other media.

Usually shortened to U6, the system sets standards and requirements for programming languages by specifying these 5 core languages:

LUICS ( or Linguistic User Interface Command System) Logic-code Uniform Interface Command System is an U6 uniform (OS) language that incorporates the following languages:
AIPL – Artificial Intelligence Programming Language - real-time adaptive, scripting, self-writing program, also used as a development tool.
ICICL – Information and Computer Interface Command Language – incorporates a network OS and related functions; it is the primary interface with other network formats.
SLATRAN – Symbol-to-Logic Array Translator- used by the OEM to make changes in processing and memory of optronic (Photonics) and electronic interfaces, i.e., translation of databases and other operating systems, debugging, and seamless interfacing with the Photonic environment.
MACOL – Machine Access Object Language - an engineering language that is used to upgrade an I/O, thin client type of Luxon computers up to a full PC or even a server. Also the standard OS for mobile phones authorized for use in Attland. Coincidentally, MACOL is also the language (sometimes referred to as MacOL) used on iPhones and iPods manufactured by Koborg Photonics jointly with Apple. The lnaguage also controls and provides for smooth interface and easy upgrades between the U6connect uniform standard with international mobile system standards and generation versions.

Foreign manufacturers are stuck in a Catch 22: like everyone lese, they can't have the LUICS code embedded into their electronic devices, and to have the code they need to purchase ready made photonic hardware, for which they can never get the license.

The U6 headquarters and the central operations center are located in the thick of the square blocks of Brunnholn giant city of the Miklasgard megacity.

King Yarl was the first to conceive such a unified standard system which became U6net, an ADSL-like country-wide internet in 1979. The same year it created a compact information, reference and commercial information network that used telephones equipped with video displays as terminals.

The U6 also was the first system that regulated the pioneering, GSM-like mobile phone system in 1975. 1983 U6 ushered in telephony and U6net transmission over electrical power supply.

The Canyon Fjord

I love how a trip up every gloomy, abysmal fjord ends with a nice surprise of discovering a friendly habitation. This fjord lives up to its name, the Canyon Fjord. Unlike Scandinavian fjords which a re wide, this fjords is very typical - only 5 miles long and no more than 25 meters wide. The island's overcrowding is felt even at this forbidding place - people built into the cliffs.

Next to the picturesque fisherman's house you can see one of the famous vine trees, and a relatively young one, since they hibernate each winter for the first 60 years till they mature: they gather strength, juices and develop their famous vine-like roots and start growing tall in earnest. They are expected to live more than 800 years and reach heights of 1400-1600 feet.

In the lnaguages of the island they call this river Bulgra, Bulgreya, Balgrey, and it gives the name to Miklasgard unique Japanese-Chinese industrial-suburban district of Balgrahaven. The British in their trading outpost tried to Anglicize it to Belgravia (just as Brunholn - Brown Hills, Brithwold - Bridewell, ect) Here the river is at the outskirts of Balgrahaven, offering its banks for use as a playground and picnic area.

The Japanese Lantern Park of the Emerald Valley

When the whole island became fascinated with the Oriental culture (back in the the 10th and then again in 12-13 centuries)the kings have built several Japanese and Chinese temples. After King Kleist restored the national rule, the temples were partially destroyed, and then opened again nut without the attributes of Oriental worship.

These are one of the views of the famous Japanese Lantern Park in the northern section of the Valley, where the Braided Rivers area starts. This is water lilies on the Yahalma river branch.

And these are the famous lanterns of the Lantern Park.Many of the lanterns have been brought to the island during the period between 12 and 15th centuries.

The puzzle of the Marlborogh City:

Unlike new modern types of corals that appeared in the Early Triassic and Devonian periods, the two coral atolls that are the main characteristic features of the Marlboro city archipelago are an exception due to their very young nature. It surprises many scientists that the atolls were able to achieve this degree of growth and aging within such a short time.

There are more interesting observations that are outright puzzling:

The Silversand atoll (the smaller) has distinct volcanic subsidence characteristics, however, it has a high central peak (see Zion Island), pronounced outward radial formations (the four major islands, Dutch Fort, Goodhugh, Spade and Silversand, and eight smaller islands) and terraced patterns with submerged radial features pointing towards the center of the atoll so characteristic of Tycho-type impact craters(!) on the Moon
the Scotch atoll has an impact crater characteristics, except that together with the Silversand atoll it lacks geological composition - no brecciated rock, no laminated or molten rocks, and no central peak
both atolls are ellipses and their major axes have a common alignment along 15 degrees true north

The perfect green flatness of the Emerald Valley's Braided Rivers

This is just a small gardening section of the lush and fertile Emerald Valley. This small field is located in the braided rivers section of the valley, between the rivers Yahalma and Glada.

The Yahalma Guardians, the pillars below are two of many that are so unique to the Island. The valley has only 5 of the famous pillars. These are natural, even though they appear as if built on purpose on both sides of a river branch that rejoins the Yahalma river that is seen in the foreground. Scientists have a tentative theory that a sudden cataclysmic draining of Glada's mountain lake (that was 600-900 meters deep in some places) sent catastrophic amounts of water scouring the paths of the river, carving a new landscape out of mountains nearby and in the Valley.

Further north, the mountains that separate the Valley from the Atlantic ocean, encroach on the braided rivers area. Though the rivers and their branches are shallow, nevertheless there is moderate shipping to be found, mainly for transporting tourists and the Valley's agricultural products. After a major rain the rivers become loaded with silt, as seen here. The minibarges are tied up at many of the shoals in the braided rivers.

How scary is the MTG Terminator assault gun?

Maarheinigt is different from the rest of the island military in its weapons. Its assault weapon is MTG "Terminator," seen recently from news footage of the captures of Gibraltar, Cyprus and Namibia. No Maarheinigt soldier has ever discussed its technical data though. The Attland never sells or shows any of its military weapons, including the Terminator.

What is known is that it is a unique, three caliber weapon. Combining a 12 Gage shotgun barrel on center top, a 9 MM barrel on the right hand side of the shooter, and the NATO 5.56x45 caliber barrel on the left, the gun is not light.

However, the gun is made using Brog Corporation's custom-manufactured polyesters, into which the metal barrels are embedded. The result is still a light weapon for its cumbersome outline, and most of all, well-balanced. Maarheinigt soldiers were seen firing it with with one hand only, hence the nickname of the Terminator.

The weapon is pre-sited with its own, Koborg Optics' purpose-designed ACOG-like sight contained inside the carrying handle, comes with bipod, detachable sniper scope, night and star sights, Brog's D-size isotope batteries, a silencer for the 9 MM barrel, and attachable bag for capturing spent shells. In addition to standard shotgun ammunition, the 12 gauge chamber can also fire specially made explosive slugs containing electrical discharge or conventional explosives, as well as sub-caliber munitions.

The muzzle and the general cosmetics look like the designers borrowed from Israel's Desert Eagle and Tavor, and some versions of the gun also look like a Pancor Jackhammer. The 10-round 12 gauge cartridge magazine and the 20-round 5.56 MM magazine are inserted in the rear, side-by-side slots, almost reminiscent of Tavor's STANAG magazine location. The 20-round 9 MM magazine is inserted into the handle.

Years of perfect eliminations point to the SCS

The policy of the island nation quickly dictated the pursuit of the infamous leaders of the Socialist Government that ruled the island from 1947 to 1967. The agency referred to by the media-invented name of SCS carried out assassinations worldwide, and only 4 renditions, 2 out of which are public, to bring the leaders and their henchmen to justice on the island's soil.

The operations can be characterized by these common features: they have been perfectly carried out, there has been little or no hard evidence, no tangible suspects, no fingerprints, there is an obvious attempt to change the weapons, circumstances and modus operandi of hit men involved.

It is suspected that eliminations started as early as 1978, and gathered pace in 1982. From 1982 to 1993 worldwide his happened at a reported rate of 15-18 a year, according to statistics gleaned from Interpol. The year of 1986 was the deadliest, when eliminations reached a record of 47, mainly in the territorial USA. In USA the socialists died mostly in mysterious circumstances - 3 in small aircraft crashes while they had never been pilots, 10 on remote stretches of highways, 20 of heart attack, insulin shock, aneurysms, and 5 as victims of the Suburban serial murders, where they were found dead in upscale suburban settings of Chicago and Milwaukee. 14 died during tragic accidents while hiking in wilderness. 11 disappeared without a trace under suspicious circumstances. 6 were found dead in apparent inner city crime-drug scenes. 13 were found to have committed suicides, 4 of them by overdosing on common medications. The only suspect ever held in relation to these murders was later found to be a petty criminal who was framed.

In Turkey, 3 died, all victims of seemingly random crimes. In Brazil 2 were found to be killed by wild animals. In Africa, 4 were killed by crocodiles.

Worldwide, 19 were killed by a method that left fingerprints of totally innocent individuals.

Over 60 were killed by gunfire, and no shells were recovered. The bullets recovered were found to be manufactured in the same country.

There has never been any consistency in suspects. After several hits on USA there had been reports of mysterious dishwashers, car mechanics, church volunteers, who were unusually social and intelligent in the general area of a hit, not connected to each other, and disappeared during the weeks after each hit.

It appears that almost everyone of the socialists have been tracked down and under surveillance until the actual hits. 12 were killed despite having changed their facial and other outward appearances. One victim was even allowed to act on his fears and undergo a plastic operation, only to be killed after a follow up visit to his cosmetic surgeon.

Till age of 17 they are taught at Maarheinigt low-profile but high intensity high schools which emphasize military sports besides military subjects. For example, instead of team sports like soccer and football, they have ongoing team competitions based on obstacle course, horse racing, water sports, mass wrestling and other we still don't know about.

Incredible fjord cities

The North is famous for its majestic, almost surreal pillars and fjords, each so unique. These two fjords have served as perches for urban settlements. This fjord settlement developed literally on the rock island at the end of a 4 mile long Seigth (Victory) fjord. The flourishing economy made the hydrofoil and seaplane commuting affordable, giving rise to these upscale communities only 20-30 minutes from Waldihnok or Morau. The sheer walls of the rock serve as structural anchor, instead of having to drill the bedrock, which always contains unwelcome materials like radioactive ores. The buildings obscure the fjord. This skyblock town community has over 12,000 residents.

This fjord town of Brydill Fjord is a collection of scattered high rises at the end of the short, 1 mile long fjord that starts on the southern shore of the eastern side of the Northern peninsula. Having rather low rocks, the fjord gets plenty of sunshine and basks in the tropics-like microclimate, housing over 20,000 people at this town. Everyone here works for at the defense and government institutions in Morau, 10 minutes by helicopter or seaplane, or 35 minutes by hydrofoil and then a commuter train into the city.

I have seen the entrance to this fjord while on my way from Waldihnok to Bermuda. The entrance is tucked between intensely precipitous cliffs, and it really does not look like there is any passage to it. My friend Leopoldo took a picture of the entrance, and then even painted it, plus a submarine making its way up the fjord. Attland is known fro hiding its submarine bases in the nooks and crannies of the northern shores' fjords and bays.

The mysterious waterfall temple of the Emerald Valley

This temple is sheer mystery. It was built in the late 12 century. Its orientation gives no clues, there are no openings for sighting stars. There are no inscriptions or dedications. All three towers are hollow, sealed and empty, and the bulges are covered with intricate pattern of interlaced fine mosaic and inlaid yellow and blue beads of cyalith and krypton rock, offering no distinct images or symbols. Attland's historians and other academics conclude that such a temple must be an early Noahide meditation site, considering the nearby waterfall. The location is on one of the branches of the braided Yahalma river, on one of the last waterfalls miles before the northern outskirts of the city of Morau.

The king also rededicated the island's temples back into their original Noahide rite.

This is just a tip of an industrial iceberg - a view of only one of the three container ports of Kayokee Megaport which is about 20 miles long, starting almost downtown Miklasgard and reaching the southern end of Kayokee. There port has its own dedicated cargo airport, DHL and Fedex terminals. The port is also home to over 100 industries, and includes over 200 miles of rail tracks (basically its own industrial rail network). The port did lose local barge transhipment service, as well as auto and aerospace manufacturing operations to the smaller river port of Balgrahaven, 15 miles up the Yahalma River. In April of 2006 the 3 million-resident Kayokee (together with the 3-million Teyerstan (Teyrastan), 6-million Maunby and 2 million Karolinga) became absorbed into the Miklasgard megasupercity.

The Northern Gates Fjord

This is how Northurgatten Fjord looked like 200 years ago. The huge, tall pillars, become successively taller further inland. The deceptively warm but foggy air disguises distances. The picturesque views of natural arches distracts any first-time skipper making his way through the waters, and the unexpected turns in the short, S-shaped fjord became the best defense for the city of Waldihnok. Many treacherous rocks have been cleared, though the famous rule is still in force for modern-day pilots and captains: keep your eyes on the water.

Between East Broksness and New Broksness there is the canalized Broksness River that is built over with bridges carrying pedestrians, freeways, street traffic and several railroad tracks at once. The river branches off Yahalma Riover and flows into the Glada River. Research suggests that up until the 6 or 7th century CE this used to be the only path of Yahalma River, before what must have been a massive tidal surge, or a tsunami from a volcanic eruption in the Antilles, caused the rivers to overflow, directing Yahalma River into a longer, curving path that gives the river its sideways U-turn before heading straight into the Yahalma-Glada Bay. The Broksness river, defying all laws of hydrology as being the shortest and steepest, hence the easiest path for a river, has become a humble small canal.

Miklasgard: hydrofoils and bridges

The Bridge Rocks and Blue Rocks: inhabited cliffs of the Eastern Shores

The Bridge Rocks is a pair of very high rocks that are not the Pillars so common to the Northern Shores. There is the natural bridge at the base of the rocks, and almost 600 feet high up, the rock settlers have already built a reinforced bridge protected against the winds brought on the storms sucked down into the warm waters by the high mountain action. The cliffs of the bays have also been settled. The residents are mainly fishermen and mineworkers.

Close along the Eastern Shore are the treacherous Blue Rocks - why didn't they call them Mean Rocks? - extremely dangerous to shipping, but so convenient for residential use, considering that it is only 30 minutes by seaplane or hydrofoil to Morau or Waldihnok. The houses have been cut into rock above the line of storm wave action. Many walkways and roadways along the treacgerous beach have been cleared of gravel, well lit at night and asimplydd a very exotic touch to the locale.

The Silent and the Great Falls

This is another one of the weeping walls along River Glada. This is the Silent Falls, since the angle and the path of the water flow makes it a very quiet waterfall.

One of the most famous waterfalls, is the Great Waterfall of the North. River Glada plunges more than 600 meters into a dark, abysmal opening. The viewing platforms are almost all glass, as are the floors, overhanging the sheer drop of the waters.

The views of Marlborough's Zion Island: the day, night and sunset

The city if Marlborough is ac combination of an archipelago of scattered small islands and two atolls. In the center of one atoll there is a rocky peak that is heavily populated, which says a lot about the congestion in the city and the whole island nation in general. The Zion Island makes use of its rocky terrain, achieving rather picturesque and futuristic look.

Zion Island is linked to Java Island by a massive bridge. On Java island, as you can see in the bottom image, they built a skyblock, or a superblock, a very massive and compact high rise that houses more than four thousand people, and hudnred of shopping, service and dining establishments.

The Crystal Temple

I enjoyed my day-long visit to the Crystal Temple. Located at the end of the Three Giants Fjord, the Crystal Temple was originally dedicated to the queen Linga, in order to consecrate the mountain crystal found in the nearby mountains by making a nearly 15 foot (about 5 meter) statue made of the pink-orange kryptonite-rich crystal.

The Temple was long been damaged and the statue of the Queen destroyed and made into smaller crystal pieces, but there was enough left of the columns (with capitals typical of the Attland architecture) to restore the temple to its former beauty, and install a 10-meter centerpiece sculpture made of thousands of cyalith- and kryptonite-rich crystal pieces. The crystal balls are close approximations of the crystal lanterns, as described in the Queen Linga Chronologies found in her famous Sky Temple and Mausoleum.

Since the 14-mile long Three Giants Fjord is located on a mountainous, inaccessible stretch of the north shores, the only way to reach the temple is by a seaplane, helicopter or a hydrofoil service from Waldihnok.

Near the Crystal Temple there is a guest center and crystal factory outlet, where they sell almost anything made of the crystal - night lights, torchier lamps, chandeliers, watches, jewelry, etc. Further up the mountainside there is a Crystal hotel whose lobby closely reproduces the beauty of the temple's main hall.

The Three Giants are one of the tallest pillars peculiar to the island. These three pillars are 534, 869, and 1023 meters tall, from the nearest to the farthest.

The Beacon Temple

The painting shows the 10th century temple and the 17th century fortress. This temple has the classic design: the circular platform; the rough slabs planted upright to define and support the circular ground level; and the streamlined, upward construction . The temple's Queen Linga flame eventually was strengthened to make the temple into a lighthouse. In the early 14th century (see the list of monarchs) all Queen Linga temples were converted into places of Noahide worship. This temple is located on the upper western shore of the Northern peninsula.

The lush oasis openings in the Chasm

The Pit Cave is a actually a natural opening of the Chasm. The sunlight supports the lush oasis growth albeit along the vertical walls. Ever present weeping falls are seen here too.

How the VANDAL program produced interesting planes and the V-3 Rocket Bomber

Early one, while still living in US, King Yarl realized he wanted the government he would install to have independent military, and the defense provided by its own naval and air forces. He signed a special Joint Defense Development Agreement, in addition to the Mutual Defense Coordination Agreement (which provides the island's military with access to US military proving grounds, while alleviating the US defense effort from having to patrol the US shores allowing it to pursue its overseas policies, among other reciprocal not-in-kind favors)

VANDAL is an acronym that is classified (V... Army-Navy-Defense Advanced L...?). According to the guidelines of the program, King Yarl obtained licenses and bought functioning models of ships and aircraft for further development, developing them into lengthened, plasma-powered craft.

Among A-5A Vigilante and XB-70 Valkyrie, King also obtained the only prototype of the bomber whose designs the Soviet Union stole to build their Tu-22 Blinder bomber. King Yarl's Experimental Aircraft Design Institute, on his own turf of Kingstad, the world's most populated and secretive Area 51, produced a midsized VANDAL Rocket V3 bomber. Most likely a nod to Germany's V-2 rocket.

The Canyon drops down into the Chasm

This is my friend's rather impressionist painting of another location where the Canyon turns into the Chasm (see this post for photos). The vine tree roots are rather exaggerated, but true to their tendency to root into any surface and allow the trunk to be almost suspended in air. The monkey, or troll bats have also been exaggerated.

There are plenty of miniature geysers all over the floor. The Chasm opening is lit up with reddish glow from below by settlements.

The river of Weeping Walls

River Glada is unique and pretty because most of its northern flow is lined with rocky walls continuously producing waterfalls, seeps, and springs. That is why the section of the river is called the Weeping Falls, or the Weeping Walls.

The Book Temple

The Book, or Library Temple is one of the most preserved ancient structures on the island.

Back in the 10-11 century, when the Nordic Catholic Christianity tried to gain hold on the island, there were already remnants of the Norse temples destroyed by the King Hrothgar's Covenant and its new republic. His granddaughter Linga inspired a cult based on the idea of her divinity, and the Temple was dedicated to her.

Most of the temples were built in and around the city of Bethel (see map here), which has been changed from a name of a Norse deity most likely Frygaheim, by king Kleist the Bloody who restored the democratic monarchy based on Noachide laws, and eradicated both the Christianity, and idol worship in the form of the Linga cult.

Initially the Book Temple was used to hold astrological tablets on 3 shelves carved into the wall. Many of the shelves and the tablets were destroyed by Christians and then the hordes of king Kleist the Bloody, only to be rebuilt afterward as a national archive. The books contained in the temple are copies of national family and land registers and other related ledgers dating back to 14th century. The originals are stored in the National Archives in Waldihnok.

Yahalma River mountains

Sheer drops and albatrosses

Unlike the northeastern mountain shores that are known for their tall pillars, the northwestern shores are simply 3000 ft tall, sheer drop precipices. Their height means that the sunset starts very early in the day. This cliff is dark after 2:30 pm on a balmy winter day. Just like the pillars, many cliffs have been settled.

Towards the top there are enough ledges to support the North Atlantic's only albatross population.

The largest natural tunnel

This huge natural tunnel is located on river Glada (golden, in north germanic languages), between the capital and the end of the Chasm-Canyon gorge.

As I have described in the post about the Emerald Valley, when the Glada Lake emptied catastrophically, its waters bored their way down the new path for a long time, long enough to form holes in the landscape, natural arched gateways to the Valley, and this natural tunnel. As you can see the opening is an irregular oval, in the foreground the tunnel is more round, and then becoming a flattened oval. The tunnel is about 200 feet long and 50 to 140 feet high in places.

Natural hot water waterfalls issue from many locations on the tunnel walls, and the largest spring has been harnessed into the pipes and ducted into the nearby geothermal power station.

The hole in the ceiling has been drilled in the early 1930's.

Intro to the pillars

Offshore the eastern half of the northern coast is dotted with these pillars. The pillars are not a product of erosion, and they do not have the horizontal stratification so typical of stacks and pillars throughout the world. The structure rather suggests a fast and recent extrusion as part of a geological uplift.

There are more than 1,300 pillars on or off the island. Here are the pillar statistics:
60% of the pillars are offshore
20% of the pillars are located on the coast or close to the sea.
85% of the pillars average 400-600 m. high, 20 m. wide, and less than 200 sq. m. on top
1 pillar has an area of 2 square miles, and it is the most distant from the island
205 pillars have been settled by carving or construction of residences into or on the pillars themselves
146 pillars are more than 800 m. high

Turbocharged fanprop

The unique turbofan prop engine illustrated below is a product of King Yarl's incessant work on many projects. The projects always overlapped. The King also saw the engine applied in his country's own aircraft designed from scratch. (Unlike the Vandal aircraft, which use structural concepts developed jointly with US manufacturers) These indigenous aircraft comprised unusually fast and maneuverable Coast Guard patrol-gunship planes, a large attack gunship plane and a utility heavy lifter plane.

The engines are unique because they preserve efficiency of a turboprop at any speed and altitude, allowing for controlling individual speeds of turbines, propellers, and propeller pitch. Another unique feature of the engine is having an equivalent of a turbocharger and a variable afterburner.

How the MHD (Plasma) propulsion works

The MHD (Magnetohydrodynamic, or Plasma) propulsion employs a very simple construction with minimal moving parts. The only moving parts are less than 20 valves needed to occasionally control auxiliary power compressor, or the flow of cold gas to the engine jacket.

The propulsion is used solely on the Vandal project aircraft. The gas is usually xenon. The liquefied gas flows under its own expansion-generated pressure through the chamber jacket, where it undergoes heating and further expansion, and enters the electric ionizer, whose function is very similar to the conventional fluorescent light. The ionized gas is then split into symmetrical injectors and fed into the chamber head (the bulbous cavity). There the gas is ionized further by the X-ray ionizer into a complete plasma state.

The extremely large AC voltage gradient of specific field characteristics and frequency is continuously applied between the chamber head and the chamber nozzle, and this results in simultaneously pinching and pumping the plasma into an extremely narrow, tubular flow path. The Electromagnetic ionizer conditions the plasma, pinching and accelerating it further, imparting speeds over 3-4 Mach.

The aircraft's power is generated by channeling of some of the jacket-heated gas into a turbogenerator, and returning the gas into the injector feeds. During the cold starts the aircraft uses a dedicated storage battery to power the ionizers. Hot start is possible after the chamber standby, wherein the chamber has not received gas flow, is flooded with cooler gas and the electric ionizer is at low power.

The plasma generation characteristics of the engine dictate that speeds below 300-400 are unsustainable. There is a moderate difference between fuel usage at cruise or maximum speed. In order to maintain low speed, only one chamber is used, and the remaining chambers ( 1, 2 of 3 in Vandal T-22, 3 of 4 in Vandal XB-70) are shut down, or put into a standby state.

More specific details are never disclosed by the DOD and Koborg Turbomotors Propulsion Research Center in Kingstad. The Koborg Corporation and the MHD engine are the creations of King Yarl.

Combat aircraft procurement with Air and Naval aviation

The national defense has developed all of its aircraft jointly with the US DOD, according to the Joint Defense Development Agreement. Vandal project aircraft were totally re-engined for entirely different propulsion system, and lengthened to accommodate heavier weapon loads, and higher capacity tanks for containing noble gas.

Conventional jet propelled aircraft were mostly derived from US DOD canceled aircraft.

The MHD-plasma propulsion is used mainly in the heavier, longer bomber aircraft F-111, F-104 and A-5 are heavy attack planes, which can also serve as bombers, and are the only MHD aircraft procured by the Navy.

The Navy uses two conventionally powered craft in the general fighter role, F-4 Magnum and F-17F Fiend.

The Air Force acquired different aircraft with conventional propulsion, F-23 Fury and F-20 Fang. These aircraft are usually deployed overseas. The Air Force has stopped using these aircraft for home and coast patrol, relegating the duty to the purpose-built turboprop aircraft developed independently of the US DOD.

The Air Force does not have any conventionally powered bombers. All its bombers are MHD powered, and are deployed at home and in Belize, as part of a program to deter any threats from Cuba.

Somebody who's privileged to read SCS newsletters told me about the real reason Tony Blair resigned so quickly. First, it was the operation PRINCE PAWN, and then WEST SPORTS. The US friends of Blair government could lo longer find a reason to encourage the pain to go on.

the loss of Gibraltar within few hours of early morning
the loss of the ECHELON and other surveillance installations
the embarrassing capture of British and US technical personnel (with the US servicemen being released a week afterwards)
the shoot down by Attland's Phantom 4MGN (Magnum) and Vandal 107 plasma jet fighter of the entire squadron of 20 jet fighters
the loss includes the loss of brand new Harrier GR9
the loss also includes the brand new Eurogihgter Typhoon,
and the loss of the only F-15s in the RAF, where one was allowed to limp back (inflicted limited damage on purpose) to Britain smoking badly and leaking fuel without firing a shot or a missile

Interesting Koborg lawsuits

Throughout the last 10 years Koborg Corporation has also made good money through winning or settling several lawsuits. One of these is the famous Microsoft lawsuit, where Koborg has ascertained that the Microsoft server-router traffic that is usually handled by Koborg Photonics Network Solutions' indexing servers at ICANN, rerouted connections to Microsoft Exchange and .net servers, SQL servers, causing revenue loss, congestion, and longer response time throughout Internet, and especially e-mail. Koborg won more than $23 billion settlement.

In a similar lawsuit, Koborg sued Google for using ad, search servers, and performing active and archived URL hashing, agreement to use Koborg Photonics' Network Solutions servers for search and hashing. Koborg and Google reached an agreement, wherein the oonly specified details are that Google will employ Koborg Photonics servers for serving Adsense, Adwords, and Webtrends.

It is virtually unknown why Koborg sued Apple, inc., but the good guess is that the touch controls and display lighting and wiring somehow infringed on Koborg Photonics technology. Apple settled by paying unspecified license fees, n addition to agreeing to use Koborg technology in high-end iPod and iPhone touch pads and displays.

I bought a Luxon and I am learning UCICS

I am buying an incredible laptop. It is about an inch thin, very lightweight, and it is not electronic. Though it is Photonic, or quantum. Finally, I shelled out 2 royal crowns and 230 darlings, (2.23x$1210) almost $2698 for Luxon F-YON. It has a two way monitor, and a keyboard area made of the same kryptonite-embedded polymer interactive surface, that is turned into the third screen.

The keys can luminesce into any 4 of Attland's writing system character sets, Japan's Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji, as well as English, Hebrew, Korean, all Germanic languages, but not Chinese, Arabic or Cyrillic. I love downloading the whole newspaper in a fraction of a second, and then read it at a coffee shop, propping it up on the table just like above.

Graet thing about it that there is no need for backups - quantum computers don't crash or lose data.The biggest minus is that it is impossible to enjoy the Photonics system on other PC platforms. Photonics can support Windows with all its applications, but not the other way around. The UCICS system and the Photonics have set up and programmed the PC so it cannot be activated outside the market area - that is why it is nearly meaningless to buy and resell the Photonics PCs in countries that are not on the Attland's preferred trading partner list.

My Luxon has only one type of PC interface - three USB sockets. All other sockets are coherent Photonics outlets. I can designate a part of my 140 GB memory for my favorite XP Home edition, a part for Linux, so I can learn and practice, and still have tons of memory left for movies, presentations, and Wall Street Journals.

I understand that Photonics PCs have no conventional CPUs. There is a block of kryptonite-precision impregnated metal-organic polymer, which is zapped with 24 volts, oscillates at 3-4 Gigahertz, and becomes a 5- or 8 dimensional simultaneous RAM-ROM-CPUs, each processing or storing data in instantly created arrays. The only other photonic materials are the I/O interactive surfaces - the thin sheet that is the screen, and the keyboard. The screen is also a touch sensor, and a video sensor of dimensions designatable by the user.

The quantum system requires no machine language, scripts or plugins. The photonic CPU comes embedded with the 5 Koborg Photonics languages that comply with the Attland's UCICS (The Unified Communication, Information and Computing System)

LUICS ( or Linguistic User Interface Command System) Logic-code Uniform Interface Command System is an U6 uniform (OS) language that incorporates the following sublanguages:
AIPL – Artificial Intelligence Programming Language - real-time adaptive, scripting, self-writing program, also used as a development tool.

Koborg's Luxon ($1,300 for D-YON, the cheapest model), as well as its crystal-embedded polymer display technology licensed to Optar, and which has been marketed as Optar Raylynd ($1379) are uncomfortably expensive, but, hey, what other monitor would let you see through it, or display a different screen on its flip side, or have a perfectly placed control panel buttons on its face just the way you like it, or have the 3-D clicking, or , which you might only dream of - assign a section of the screen to serve as a web cam (Luxon E-, F-, and G-YON)?

Or this projection computer - it's great for presentations, and it fit into a pocket. Everything in it is Koborg Photonics - from touch-sensor projector keyboard, to a coherent laser display.

Brog Industries Structure

Preserving their independence from both royal and venture capitalists, the private company used their royal estate permission to expand, and soon developed one of the earliest petroleum production companies in North America. The Emerald Valley, The Valley Gates

Long time ago the area of the Emerald Valley was a lake. When the Glada mountain lake emptied catastrophically, the rushing waters flushed the lake and together the waters ran off further along Glada and Yahalma rivers, causing changes to the confluence of the rivers at their joint mouth in what is now Miklasgard City. The lake bottom became a fertile ground for the new Emerald Valley. When the enormous amount of water rolled down the Glada river, it encountered the ridges rising out of the lake and joining the mountains. The waters punched these holes, and also chiseling away some of the rock, forming the Valley Gates, which are also the real gates to the Valley and its fertile wetlands.

Least to say, besides emeralds, sapphire, diamonds (the root of the Yahalma river's name) and gold (what Glada river stands for) titanium, tungsten, and coal, the Valley is one of the most fertile regions of the world, hosting most unusual selection of crops - grapes, apples, pears, peaches, berries, as well as Attland's exotic vegetation and gourmet crops - coffee tree; vanilla, balm and iris orchids; meal (muel) tree; and nectar lily.
Besides exotic trees, the Valley is rich with most unusual views and sights, like these unique river fields, whose shape and fertile soil resemble many river deltas. These river fields are actually medium-sized, perfectly flat islands that are used for crops. Most of the Glada and Yahalma river lengths split into these fields, contributing to the riches of the Valley.

On the Yahalma River side there is also the mysteriously exotic Cycad Valley, rich with the prehistoric cycad trees

The Security Commission Service

Otherwise unofficially known as SCS, because there are no other official names to Attland's intelligence and security agency. Unlike CIA, FBI, FSB, SDECE or KGB, the incognito agency has never been officially discussed. It does not have an address, a publicly known building, and nobody knows its governmental title. What is known and deduced is that it is a service of the Security Commission, an equivalent of the US National Security Council.

King Yarl must have created the service, because the Security Commission is one of the few government bodies that never undergone restructuring. Nobody knows most of its members. Chancellor Dolgrynd is known to have been the member, but only due to the released information that introduced him as the new chancellor with "plenty of experience in investigating irregularities in domestic and international finance."

SCS does not have uniforms, nor official service personnel with titles linking them to the SCS. Whenever a security-related arrest is made, the warrant language and the arresting police officers cite "acting under the authority of the National Security Law."
The headquarters, training and operations center are all based somewhere up north, and also very likely in the Maarheinigt's own private city.
SCS has been deduced to have strategically leaked major intelligence to the world press, thus waging the most efficient information war.
When Attland was almost in a cold war with France, SCS somehow got hold of compromising information that drove Pierre Beregovoy to suicide.

Using what must be a leading edge UCICS surveillance methods and nano-technology-based robotic bugs, SCS was capable of penetrating most sensitive offices of Russian, British, German, Israeli and other governments, and has used the information either to impart surprise leverage to Attland's foreign policy or to leak the information that causes damage from within a foreign power.

Often preserving the American Cooperation Treaty, SCS jealously protects or sides with US's national (read conservative) interests by offering free info or advance warning to the American security agencies when they could not otherwise detect the problem themselves. Teutonic coolness re. Israel and Obama

Attland's government has a cool policy towards selected countries and people. Fore example, from Miklasgard, as a capital city, I see that Attland, following the Queen's suit, is cool towards the socialist government of Israel, though Attland and the Queen are firmly pro-Zionist, pro-Jewish and defend fervently the safety and security of Jewish population in Israel.

Anytime you pass through Teurastad International Airport you will see the huge, building-sized flags of the US, Japan and Israel in the arrivals area. (Attland does not have a flag, in compliance with its Laws of the Land and of the Government. The Queen, as a Royals, also has no flag, but she can be said to have a certain domestic symbolic standard which is kept in a museum (most of the time) and has been taken out only once, for her overdue official coronation/investiture after she returned from her space mission).

The Queen, exercising her laws, left Attland for Israel (the only land allowed by the Law of the Royals, written by her old ancestor King Hrothgar) only 3 times, as I can count, to visit Israel as the Holy Land, two times by sea, and once one her own plane that is kept in her own palace hangar.

The government of Attland is more actively critical of Israel, for its corrupt socialist policies failing to protect the Holy Land and the Jewish people.

As Israel has suddenly stopped the Gaza campaign as a convenient good gesture to Obama, the Queen's press secretary fell silent. Not so Chancellor Dolgrynd's press secretary. The official statements almost coincided:

"...the Government of Attland has to emphasize that the unfinished operation in Gaza once again leaves the Jewish population sorely vulnerable to terrorism, and a victim of the political decision that valued superficial goals..."

regarding President Obama's inauguration, the Chancellor Dolgrynd's press office issued the following:

"...on behalf of the Nation of Attland (pointed exclusion of people, which means the nationals and the permanent, non-citizen residents - my comment) I wish President Obama good luck and God's blessing in this undertaking of guiding the very unique and great country of the United States of America to success while preserving the best of American traditions and values..."

The Government, and the Chancellor Dolgrynd especially, have always been cool, in its Teutonic way, to the African-American aspect of the American liberal policies. Attlandians always point out that its black population of over six hundred thousand is the most affluent and successful in the world.

Convenient Government-to-Queen buck passing: Russia

The Queen is known for keeping separate stance from government. According to the stipulation of the Attland Basic Laws, the Laws of People, in the Chapter on Royals, give the royals the freedom from the government, as well as drawing the line between a Royal's potential role of a judicial and spiritual guide, and other branches of the government. However, due to the immense importance of the Royal business, especially that of the Queen's Koborg Bank commodity trading, and the Koborg Corporation's business activities, most Attland embassies have Royal Interest section, or a Royal Attache.

That is how the recent item of the Russian government, still seething at the Attland's government decision to break the "useless" (from the official statement) diplomatic relations, cringed and approached the Attland ambassador in Austria, with a request to agree to discuss gold, currency and oil trade (Attland always PUSHED for a lower, less than $50 a barrel oil price; Attland is also one of the very few world economies that is growing despite the financial crisis; the Queen is the only entity in the world that in the face of the global economic crisis is enjoying huge personal earnings, pays the incredible $80 billion of personal income tax to the US as an American citizen, and whose personal Koborg Corporation is incredibly profitable.)

The ambassador, however, passed the buck to the Queen's representative, who later called the Russian representative saying that "the Queen does not find the prospect of discussing trade aspects relevant at this time or in the areas of trade mentioned.

Keep in mind, I was told that it was the Queen who almost forced Attland's, if not her own say into the OPEC's unspecified meetings. In the same manner, she maneuvered the UN to give Attlanda unique monitoring status, which entitles Attland to vote in the UN Security Council. This was right about the start of the Attland-Russia honeymoon, in 1999-2000, when Russian felt weak and did not put up much of a fight against Attland being given such an exotic post. Russia, most likely, liked the lure of Attland being on her side in setting the future petroleum price. This did not work out to Russia's favor in the long run.

This is where the Canyon becomes the Chasm

Because most of the fissure, that is, the Canyon and the Chasm are deep and narrow, they are always semi-dark and gloomy. Wherever possible, the already overcrowded Attland populace has succeeded in settling the Fissure, either by building on to the ledges, nooks and crannies, or simply building houses on the Fissure floor.

In most of the Chasm, flash photography is against the law. Flash can spook the wildlife, especially the tarsiers, and most dangerously, the troll (flying monkey) bats. Since the Fissure has over 50 million of them, the spooked bats might rush for the exit holes, or the person using flash, and cause harm to themselves or people. That is why the Canyon and the Chasm (especially) have been portrayed mostly in paintings.

above:this is ruins of an ancient temple that used to serve Nordic idols, and then Queen Linga. This is one of numerous transitions of Canyon to the Chasm. You can see here a northerner who entered the Canyon at this point, looking at the rather large bats (you can see why they are called troll bats). These are the only bat species that can stand up, especially before taking off.

River Glada is running through one of cracks in the rock behind the temple face.
Some of the ruins I hear have been settled for some time by gold diggers and bush silk harvesters.

Here is the Canyon at mid-day, at the point where it starts to narrow into the Chasm. Even though it is a canyon, the ere are already the stalactite and stalagmite formations. Further in the background and higher up you can see someone's home built into the rock face. On teh opposite wall there is an entrance to some form of a housing.

River Glada is a vary narrow stream, running to the right, almost obscured by the overhanging rock. This rare photo shows the typical look of an old deep lake that filled the Fissure. This is not a typical river-carved canyon.

I am buying an already used alternative NRG car

It has been less than a year since last September when the government ordered the whole country to switch all passenger-carrying cars from internal combustion to either hybrid, electric or biopower (synthetic muscle) power.

Half the cars switched to hybrid, using the synthetic esterol (ester-alcohol) fuels. Some, probably municipal and corporate pools went plugin-electrical all the way, and good 20% are driven by the synthetic muscle engine.

Given that Citroen C series car look has been regarded as one of the most attractive of cars, Attland's remanufacturers and custom makers have been purchasing Citroens from the French manufacturers and installing engines according to a customer's specifications.

I needed a car, right away. I could not afford to buy a brand new car. Or wait for a custom car to be put together. So I bought a sued one, It already has the synmuscle engine in it.
The car is very simple to operate. Simpler than a plugin electrical. In the electrical controller 1, the battery supplies current to the programmed pulse generator, which contract or expand the individual synthetic muscles by sending pulses of specific polarity, current and duration. Each muscle is made of a proprietary crystal-impregnated polymer invented by King Yarl.

The concept is not so new. My interior decorator girlfriend from Russia says that long time ago, in the Russian children's story The Adventures of Neznaika and his Friends (Приключения Незнайки и его друзей, 1954) Nikolai Nosov had the cute idea of a contracting muscle-powered car, described jokingly as a single-muscle engine that has a cylinder filled with soda drink. Very Jules-Verne-like prophecy, I'd say. Some time later, Toyota cam up on the idea of electrically sensitive gel (Tohru Shiga Toyota Central Research and Development Laboratories, Japan)

As long as I stay in Attland, with its weather between 60-90 deg F, it means the motor will need no warming and minimal cooling by its electrolyte conditioner.

There is no huge bank of batteries, as in other electrical cars. Instead, in the trunk there is a large battery the size of a microwave. The engine itself is rather small, since the bionic muscle produces power during contracting and expanding. There is no large fluid storage tanks. Half of the electrolyte is always in the electrolyte conditioner ( see 4 in the drawing above). The engine is also light since the camshaft has no flywheel, because the engine cycles have no dead spot - due to the electrical-stimulated contracting and expanding. There are no pumps. The electrolyte is recirculated by the bionic muscles' action. The two-cylinder bionic muscle engine is rated for 120 HP.

When idle, no current is used. If the weather is very hot, the 4 conditioner automatically sends electrolyte to an external loop ( I guess it is not shown on the diagram).

The downside? The bionic muscle has a limited optimal performance period, something like 1000 hours. I didn't see the replacement prices, but as a new technology, it seems that the specific bionic muscle that is sued in my car would cost around 700 gold crown ounces to replace. The battery needs to be recharged every two weeks or so, for a normal 2 hour everyday highway-street driving.

A slightly improved conventional bomb comes out of the closet

The Attland Government has just come out (www.attlandonweb.gov/press_release_2009.asp and presskit@secretary@nationalgovt) and plain revealed the use of the noise bombs in its Namibian (see the FLIGHT HOME operation) and Sothern Iraq operations. The tactic appears to use smoke and noise bombs, before exercising the option to drop the electron discharge -lightning bombs.

Each of the noise bomb is individually pre-programmed to delay the explosion after parachuting to the point of impact, in order to produce the loudest and most unnerving and chaotic jumble of shrieks, screams and screeches, with unpredictable pauses. The bombs explode either at the programmed time, or when touched. Smoke bombs are very similar in their operations, producing copious amount of smoke before their programmed explosion. All these bombs used together totally disorient the civilians and military personnel.

The Chasm and the Canyon Gorge - the Fissure

Academia has still not decided on the sequence of events that led to the formation of the Chasm and Canyon fissure. There are many conflicting scientific observations.

Firstly, the date of the sudden cataclysmic uplift that thrust Attland island, and its northern mountainous peninsula high above the sea level is different from the formation of the inner peninsula geology. However, they are not too ancient: the dates point to a very recent phase of the quaternary period. It seems that the Fissure appeared shortly after the catastrophic uplift.

What is certain is that the fissure happened when the northward down slope of the northern mountains cracked and slid relatively short distance, which created a deep gorge.
The width of the gorge varies erratically from several meters to about 300 meters.

The fissure as seen in the image, is a U shaped tear, is anywhere from 30 meters to 2000 meters deep.

In its early history, the cataclysmic fissure caused the river to fall into the newly formed canyon and start to fill it, eventually creating a deep lake that almost reached the upper rim of the fissure. At least 200 hundred years passed before another critical event took place. The waters of Glada river found a newer, shorter drainage path, (though not through corroding the canyon walls) and rushed along the new course. Most likely, post-fissure, minor racking lasted for many years, finally creating a narrow and deep passage for the river. See the image above.

The relatively wide parts (the middle 20 miles and the 10 miles at the eastern end) of the fissure remains open, while the narrower parts have become overgrown with vegetation, effectively closing it off from much of sunlight. The fissure has multitude of dry and flooded caves, ledges and arches of mysterious geological origin, and unique flora and fauna (marsupial tarsiers and bats).

Precipitated by the start of the anti-terrorist operation in Gaza, Moslem inmates at Attland's prison facilities in Belize and Namibia have attempted to riot, which led the law enforcement authorities to sequester them pending the investigation by the attorney general. He found the case to be the repeat of the text book situation where 250 inmates at the home island's detention facility rioted and were sentenced to death, where the sentence was formulated by the queen. He forwarded the case to the Supreme Court of the Supreme Council, late Saturday, the court returning the guilty verdict, and the Queen pronouncing the capital punishment sentence Early Monday evening. The 22 Moslem rioters were officially found guilty and later that evening, between 9:10 and 9:45, all were executed.

As in the previous case, no details were provided regarding the method and the disposition of the bodies. Some executions of the 250 were officially videotaped and screened for the convicts with the history of criminal offenses. The video screening has been considering as proper warnings regarding the Attland's law regarding any convicted criminal's attempted riot as a violent crime, subject to capital punishment.

Rumors have it that the first 250 were shot indiscriminately on the edge of a shark pool. It is known that graduating classes of the Maarheinigt basic training course serve as the firing squad, both in order to experience a rite of passage and as a conditioning or desensitization experience.

Besides the Business Communications course I teach at a school for permanent residents in Miklasgard, I also teach scientific report writing

One of the students arranged for me to take a tour of a part of the National Accelerator Complex, which was founded by King Yarl. University of Kingstad Institute of High Energy Physics (another of King's brainchild ideas) operates many of scientific projects throughout the complex.

The schematic layout is not to scale nor is geographically correct.

I visited the J7-JS2 facility, which is outside Karolinga, right next to the airport (and what seems to be one fo the well-secured military aircraft manufacturing plant), and the T1/J1 facility seems right next to it, if you look at the map. The T1 facility, actually, is more than 40 miles away at the Lievingbron Air Force Base and Space Center. The other terminus (T3/J5) of the A2 Linac is at the Soderstrand Space Center. It is very convenient for the military, since it can control all of the operations of the Linac.

The original portion of the complex that King Yarl had envisioned and built is the A1 and A3 linacs, where A1 was originally reached from T2 to C. The C installation now is a dedicated collider facility.

I don't know where the rest of the injector, T2 and T4 sites are. Most of them have no geographical names attached.

I was told that the Plutonium-238 which was in such short supply for space mission's power generators (see this Space article) is made at the A3 T1 and T3 facilities, and since the article's release, Attland has already produced more than 5 pounds of the isotope. What has worried international nuclear watchdog organizations is that Attland has never signed any nuclear treaties, because it has a certified, non-breeder reactor facilities, but it can now manufacture any strategic isotope and metal at any of the National Accelerator Complex target facilities. The T1 and T3 facilities are also the locations where slugs for the electron resonance weapon are made. (Alternative names for the weapon is plasma cascade, electron discharge cascade, the lightning bomb, etc)

What must be a feasibility and demonstration project, using the NAC facilities the University of Kingstad has synthesized over 11 pounds of gold, 25 pounds of thorium pounds of uranium and 5 pound quantities of other rare metals.

King's Plasma Cascade Discharge Bomb

Both USA and USSR have been working on EMP weapons, and they all come up with wither conventional (coil, capacitor, electric discharge) or nuclear methods of producing an EMP. King Yarl has used his Adiabatic Cannon at his own High Energy Physics Institute to process krypton-containing kleistonite, aluminum and carbon to produce an explosive that is at least 5-10 times more powerful than TNT, produces hellish shock wave, an incredible EMP, and zero nuclides or radiation.

From what I found out on U6 web (education@public@kshepi), is this 2-shot process:

Shot 1: a target of pure dry ice (carbon dioxide) is shot with a slug of Aluminum Hydroxide, in the adiabatic cannon using a 2 to 5 ton high explosive charge, producing a solid Aluminum Carbide (Al4C3), just the kind that is found in cyalith.

Shot 2: At the National Accelerator Complex, a target of finely powdered cyalith, especially the kind that is high in deuterium, is bombarded with a series of particle beams ( of unknown sequence) of D2O deuterium water, xenon, lead, and magnesium alloy, resulting in a stressed latticed dispersion of xenon, and lead deuteroxide.

The two targets are kept well-separated from each other, and in a well-grounded container.

The principle behind the explosive potential is unlike the critical mass that is necessary for nuclear fission of isotopes.

What causes the explosion of hellish electric discharge is the third shot, when the two targets are fired at each other as quickly and snugly as possible. The Electron-rich xenon, packed too close for comfort into the cyalith homogeneous lattice, exerts repulsive interatomic pressure on lead and Aluminum Carbide, both in a structured but superstressed unstable lattice state. Further lattice formation is impossible, causing a massive oscillation of electrons that hit against deuterium and lead, and, soon thereafter, all these atoms become jarred till they start shedding their electrons, becoming ionized to a plasma state, and attempting to recapture any electrons around. The electrons have been expelled by deuterium into the surroundings, forming an electron cloud, destabilizing atoms of nitrogen, carbon and oxygen in the air, short-circuiting the air and ground, and in the result producing a flash, then a positive lightning of one stroke(in weapons over 600 kg (approximately 7 KT TNT equivalent), and a third, large flash.

Understandably, when shot out of a military weapon, the two targets cannot be juxtaposed, since it would lead to an immediate detonation inside the barrel. Instead, the targets are microencapsulated and dispersed with high explosive powder.

In missiles and dropped ammunition the targets are juxtaposed just like in a gun-type nuclear device.

The extremely destructive explosion produces little or no mushroom cloud, and low amounts of clouds of dust and debris.

When exploded in a rainy, wet weather, the device produces a more powerful first flash, and a weaker third flash.
Exploded underground, the device produces a lightning bolt, and a destructive third flash that excavates a deep crater.
Exploded in midair the weapon causes a minimal first flash, a powerful lightning strike, and an extremely powerful large flash.
Underwater explosions create a extreme energy discharge in the form of a shock wave.

King Yarl (Kjoning Gyarl) was a true renaissance man and polymath: he was a statesman, a politician, a scientist, a national leader, a physicist, a chemist, a geologist, an archeologist, an engineer and an inventor.

He was also a highly organized hobbyist who had time to enjoy collecting coins, gems, stamps, and growing flowers. King Yarl is also one of the most socially connected persons, having met prominent personalities from almost four generations, many countries, most professions and political activities, and members of same families throughout different time periods.

He was also a hyperglot, speaking fluently 4 Attlandian languages, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Norwegian, Icelandic, Danish, Esperanto, Japanese and Hebrew. He also was proficient in reading and writing Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Greek, Latin and Chinese.

His father's death coincided with the death of the late Prince Gustav Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (family line unrelated to the King Yarl’s lineage), the father of the present king of Sweden, in an airplane crash outside Copenhagen, Denmark, on 26 January 1947.

Formative years and education

King Yarl was born Yarl Hrothgar in his parents’ royal apartments in the Koningsborg Fortress. His parents, King Ethelgar and Queen Feyli, enjoyed their status as the richest individuals in the world, owning wealth amassed throughout the last 3 centuries that was well invested and grew to over $20 billion, the exact amount is unknown due to the very private status of royal affairs and businesses.

His father was the administrator of the family’s fortunes through running a gold and currency bank which used to be the Attland’s Central Bank, and has been relegated to be his own private enterprise. He generously gave to philanthropic causes and arts, in partnership the help of his wife, who was an art lover and critic, and together they built up quite an impressive collection of sculptures and paintings, as well as attracting top talent opera singers and ballet stars. The couple owned and bequeathed to their son their collection of art and precious objects which includes 8 Faberge eggs, the original prepublication manuscript of Eugene Onegin that has the famous lost chapter,

The parents spared no money and resources on their son. The most gifted and professional tutors were employed to raise prince Yarl. Since 5 years of age he already enjoyed stories of adventure and science, especially that of US President Franklin, who had become one of his ideals.

His father loved to take his family on vacation in US and Europe, where he owned several residences (New York, Snowmass in Colorado, Paris, London, Berlin, the island of Capri, Nice, and at about this age while on a trip to Germany, in the middle of the war, his father took his son to meet Kaiser Wilhelm II.

At 9 years of age the prince already owned simple instruments for demonstration of electricity, and the most expensive of professionally made telescopes available at the time. He also owned a collection of cowboy paraphernalia that included a Yellowboy lever action rifle that he fired at the palace gun range located in the back of the palace (now one of private gardens enclosed deep within the modern Royal Palace complex) while wearing ear muffs designed especially for him.

At about this age he grew fascinated with electricity, as a result of reading the accounts of Benjamin Franklin’s experiments with lightning. The prince soon showed interest in storing or reproducing the electricity for use in electrical motors.
